Description
This is a huge piece for me (both literally and figuratively) as I have grown up with Drew Struzan painting all the great film posters and I always wanted one of his originals. But as many know his big finished poster paintings are 5-figures on up to 6-figures. Even his full size comp paintings like this one are still low 5-figures usually, but I got lucky on this one. There were a few Struzan originals put into the regular movie poster auctions on Heritage recently and I think they went for below value because of it. I chose this one to focus on because I genuinely love the Tremors films, especially the first film. So when I saw this one, I figured this was my chance and went for it and very happy I was able to win it. So I managed to finally get a Drew Struzan original, but also was able to get one for a film I actually like! Life is funny sometimes and this just seemed meant for me to get it. :)

Here is the Heritage description:
Tremors by Drew Struzan (Universal, 1989). Very Fine. Original Mixed Media Concept Art (22" X 30").
This 90s American western-themed monster comedy stars Kevin Bacon, Fred Ward, Finn Carter, Michael Gross, Reba McEntire, with direction by Ron Underwood. Despite the film's failure at the box office, Tremors was one of the first movies to achieve viral status once the VHS was released, and over time has become a horror comedy cult classic. Reportedly, when Underwood and screenwriter S.S. Wilson were called to marketing at Universal, they were only presented with a Jaws rip-off poster, only seeing Drew Struzan's concept art years later. This original color comprehensive art by the artist is signed and dated "Drew Struzan 89'."

Some say there are no deals in art now, but there still are for the workers, and you've always been a top game worker.  You earned it Dave!  Nice big, grown-ass man piece in your collection.

Fantasic Sci-Fi monster flick and the vision of Struzan brings it all to life with great focus on the foreground all aiming towards our heroes!

Since I love Tremors and its sequels this is wonderful. Even more wonderful is that is done by one of the finest artists to ever do film poster artwork.

Great pick up.  I love the movie and Drew's art so I agree with your feelings on both.  What more can you ask for, a movie poster featuring the greatest actor ever and Starlord's Christmas gift...Kevin Bacon!
