Description
This early Steve Canyon has always seemed to me like an unusual Caniff strip, with its depiction of an extreme psychological state: the empty circle eyes, the helpless female victim, the shaded figure up against the picture plane in the last panel all give it an unsettling horrific quality. Strong blacks and figure drawing add to the power of the strip.
