Description

Joy tainted by sorrow

So the seller drove up to drop off this page and we were chatting about all things George (as one does...), and I was thrilled to get this one not only because it's a great Robin page, but because it helps extend the page sequence I already have.

Later that evening I received the call letting me know George had passed away earlier in the day. Turns out that John and I were meeting and talking right around the same time of George's passing. Now this page will be probably the most bitter-sweet part of my collection.

Rest in peace George - I can only imagine what kind of masterpiece you and Kirby are working on up there...

The art won over hearts and minds of even the staunchest Marvelite with how much Perez put into each panel. Perez and Tanghal had a mastery of the Titans at this point and was able to put in even more art as they went along.
