Description
Marvel Jan. 1977 from the story "The City in the Storm!" written by Roy Thomas Adapted from "Marchers of Valhalla" by Robert E. Howard that was first published in 1972 !

I'm going to call this one my Dr. Strange Page !

I sold a lot of Strange Tales / Doctor Strange comics last month on eBay that no one would give me a dollar for a few years back. Plan was to build up my HA cash fund but this page came along to tempt me away from my original goal (sound familiar). I have to admit I was nervous about buying this from a 0 rated seller and the price was higher than I wanted to spend but Dr. Strange proved quite helpful in providing the funds needed.

Enjoy JB and EC's half splash brilliance. Cheers.

For comparison, I've added a few color scans from the comic and a page from the Art of Conan the Barbarian book.

Oh, and this is the issue Ernie Chua returns as inker under the name Ernie Chan !

Thanks Rick. The only down side is I have to sell a new batch of comics to pay for what comes around the corner next !

Sorry Andrew. I may have brought the price up on this bidding against you my friend. (I did not know it was you.)

A WONDERFUL page that found it's way into the right collection!

If you have to get lured away from fundraising for HA art, this has got to be the best reason... just a killer page! There's a yawning void in my collection where a Hyborian Age dancing maidens page by JB belongs... some day!

Buscema maidens of song and wine temp even Conan's thirst for adventure!  A palatial scene that is fully decorated and filled with Buscema and Chan specialties of festive merriment and dance.

By Crom, I think it's a honey trap.  Amazing Buscema/Chan/Chua brilliance.
