I couldn't resist this piece by indie comics creator Bret M. Herholz whose meticulous line work suits the Golden Age atmosphere of Wesley Dodd's Sandman. How I would love to see a fill-in issue of Sandman Mystery Theatre drawn in this style.

The dense crosshatching is amazing and still allows for us to see all the work on the costume/wardrobe.
