DescriptionDay 37. Thirty-One days of Star Wars continues... now onward to 45 days in honor of the 45th anniversary of the original film’s release!Written by John Ostrander and illustrated by Luke Ross this issue features the story "Loyalties," which is set approximately two weeks after Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith. The new Emperor lays out his plans for his Empire, and those who have other ideas are dealt a swift lesson by Vader's blade. But one Captain wants nothing to do with the new government, and plans his defection. But what do you do when the Dark Lord of the Sith is determined to stop you? Former senate guard Sayoro Autem is now on Vader’s list. When you need quick transit off Coruscant (or any Star Wars planet) where do you look for a ride? The nearest bar or cantina, of course! Luke Ross has filled this one with plenty of familiar alien characters from the prequels and the special editions. Social/Sharing |

Takes Luke Ross page you've got
Taking a break from Empire worries
Sure would help a lot
Wouldn't you like to hide away?
Sometimes you want to go
Where every rebel starts again
And they're always glad you came
You want to be where he can't see
Darth Vader lists my name
Don't want to be where everybody knows your name
You want to go where they smuggle
Creatures are not the same
Don't want to go where Sith and Jedi play their games

I remember this story well. Ross really impressed me with his art on this one, and seeing the original leaves me even more impressed.

I really enjoyed this particular style Luke Ross once used. So great to see another appearance by Joe Camel, too!
