Description

In the late 1950s, Belvision commissioned several Tintin animated feature films, including The Black Island, The Crab with the Golden Claws, The Star of Mystery (The Shooting Star), The Secret of the Unicorn, Red Rackham's Treasure, Objective Moon (Destination Moon and Explorers on the Moon combined) and The Calculus Case. They were produced by Raymond Leblanc and directed by Ray Goossens. They were animated in the US and the animators included the well-known CL Hartman, who got his start with Disney before doing extensive work in the 1950s and 1970s in many anime television series, including many works by Hanna Barbera (see IMBb for more information). In the UK, these films were first released as 5-minute daily episodes; many of you will remember the iconic shout "Herrrgeeees Adventurrrres of Tintinnnnn" at the beginning of the episodes.

An original 1960 Raymond Leblanc Belvision Objectif Lune Tintin Aventure drawing from the studio archives. The drawing of Captain Haddock in the spacesuit of him feeling the cold is on 12.5"x10.5" (32x26.5 cm) "Riverside Bond" paper. The drawing is in pencil with some contours and shadows in red pencil. You may also see various facilitator instructions on the sheet. You can see below on the right a reference C-6 (C for Captain) and the reference of the file T8/53. A beautiful and rare collector's item.
