Sauron Commission

Matías Bergara is one of my favorite working artists, so I was very excited to get on his commission list. I gave him a handful of options and he chose to do Sauron from Lord of the Rings in his own style. The result is striking, and shows off Matías' dedication to intricate details in the armor. I think he had fun designing it. By the background, I take it he thought of this as Sauron standing inside or in front of Mount Doom. My favorite thing about this is the axe. I will say though, I've always been a little perplexed at what's going on with the raised hand. It looks backwards to me. Nonetheless, I'm very happy with it and hope to get on his commission list again in the future.
