Smith renders an elegant pose to make Phoenix's figure so sleek and limber. The nice sash give this a strong sense of extra movement!

Yeah his X-men run was a game changer IMO, and doesn't get enough attention and was overshadowed IMO by the Jim lee run etc. As for this piece like most PMS pieces it is a all about the pose and gesture, and he nailed it.

I prefer his run to the Lee one.
