This page is from Annihilation: Conquest – Starlord Issue #1, released July 25, 2007. This page marks the first meeting between Star-Lord and Bug, a character who would later become a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy.

The scene initiates the formation of the precursor team that would evolve into the modern Guardians of the Galaxy. Over the next few pages, Star-Lord assembles a group of unlikely allies to take on the Phalanx threat, laying the groundwork for one of Marvel’s most celebrated cosmic teams.

Another nice page for your burgeoning GotG collection! I have to say, if I didn't know better I'd have guessed this was European art. It really looks like something that you'd find in a European album. Very nice, Ian!

Really nice sparse thin lined art out of the European school of sci-fi. The geometry and the attention to characters' faces and body language are really strong.

Awesome page; love this book. I feel it's a very important chapter in the Guardians story.
