DescriptionThanks to Joe from Britcomicsart.comI saw this lovely little watercolor and colored pencil bust in his for sale portfolio at Heroes Con and took no time to make it mine. Thanks also to the innumerable number of fellow collectors who pointed it out to me :) Social/Sharing |

Simple use of shape, color and tone brings so much volume to this piece. You can feel the weight of The Thing, and the expression match the melancholy of the character.

Love the emotion of this piece. A very solemn Thing, but yet a beautiful Thing.

The good Thing in my life
Has come today, and all know why
Ben's come my way, From Melchior
Buckingham did colors here
The one good Thing (hey, hey, hey) didn't last too long
(Woo who, who, who)
The page was turned (hey, hey, hey) and deal was done

I had an inkling that this would make the jump from Joseph's portfolio to yours when I saw it, glad to see it did as it fits perfectly in your collection. Congrats!

Wow, those watercolors really bring a warmth and softness to Ben's rocky exterior.

Beautiful Bucky Benji! Fantastic piece, Chris, and I love the subtle touch on the colors here. I remember asking a professional colorist at a con if they would please color a Thing commission I had just gotten, and their response was something very close to the lines of, "Why? It's all orange, isn't it?" I was pretty startled by that reply (and the piece remains in black and white to this day :) ), but not at all surprised by the fine work of the ever-delightful Mark Buckingham here. Terrific pick up, Chris! Congrats on another great Heroes score!

Sensational commentary as always, Jason. Thank you!
