DescriptionJean Paul Valley, Tim Drake and Alfred wheel around Bruce Wayne just after Bane broke the Batman's back in the previous issue! The Story of how I officially unlocked the Fisch Benz achievement award and started my burgeoning "I whupped Batman's ass" collection: So thanks to Blaster H randomly messaging Michael McIsaac, b/c he has Action Comics #651 page 8, another Maxima page was brought to my attention. As that is one of my collecting focuses, I messaged the folks at Dreadnought Comics and it seemed like this needed to be an in-person transaction. In addition, there was a Knightfall page from Batman #498 available! Knightfall is certainly one of my favorite Batman sagas and I couldn't pass up an Aparo Knightfall page that was right after the breaking of the Bat! Thus, I flew into Phoenix, AZ last Sunday and picked up some pages from Dreadnought Comics including this one! Social/Sharing |

Knightfall baby!!! I've never flown to Phoenix to buy art, but I might consider it for a nice Knightfall page. Great pick-up Derek!

Awesome immediate aftermath of the broken Bat! A major event that defined Batman for the 90's. A journey from failure of being broken to eventual triumph!

I can't believe that a poor innocent Porsche was made to suffer because Batman lost a fight. A true tragedy.

The aftermath is as memorable to me as the math. It's hard to forget how f'd up Bruce looked. Then that JPV in the middle--he looks like an errand boy now, but the reader knew what was coming. The way he's framed in that panel is a wink from Aparo.

A very important page from the Batman mythos. Nice that it's by Jim Aparo too, one of the all time legendary Batman artists. A shame the seller wasn't willing to ship it to you though. Talk about a back breaking transaction!
