Josh Cassara started out strong with his X-Force work, killed it on X Lives of Wolverine, and is up next on the flagship X-Men title.

I touched base with him about another art purchase and decided to pick it up in person, making a day trip to Terrificon.

Just a super nice, down to earth, humble guy drawing some of the best comics out there today.

Of course, I couldn't pass on the opportunity to get him in the sketch book with this rendition of Marvel Girl he helped reinvigorate during the current Hickman era.

Can't recommend reading Josh's work enough and the direct buying experience with him.

The color pencils are skillfully utlitized to get amazing effects. From the bold primary colors, the different layers of hair colors and highlights, to the complex blending used for shadows, Cassara shows a rverence for the past with an eye towards the future of the artform. It is why he can carry the torch for this new era of X-Men.

Love the retro take here, and he got some great depth with those pencils. Congrats!
