Description

This is Larry Elmore's illustration of the death machine from the 2nd Edition Gamma World Rule book (page 58). In the letter James Ward enclosed with the art, he mentions that TSR employees would play duels between gods and unique monsters from D&D and other games and the death machine always came out on top.

As an extra added bonus, there is a partial nude (tastefully covered) sketch on the back that I scanned for the heck of it.

Very nice! The second edition boxed set of Gamma World was one of two products for the first three editions that I never acquired, and I had no idea Elmore's illustrating of the third edition was a continuation from the second edition.
