Description

This piece was part of Mike's original iteration of the Island story, before he went back to the drawing board (literally) and created a whole new beginning (several times in fact) for the series. Mike later inked this page and others and had them colored and published in the Strange Places TPB.

It will be mine! someday... Very great page. I love that this page is from a hellboy story that never materialized. So it is a glimpse into a future that never was and a literal ghost page... half real but half missing.... On a completely different note, i love that the monsters start as amorphous lumps and as they get closer and closer to hellboy, they gain eyes and arms and claws. it really suggests the gloom that is shroading these figures in a dense sea fog.

Oh, it WILL be yours Michael, but you are not a Jedi yet, so no Soup for you! Le'ts see how many other pop culture references I can sandwich in here. :)Seriously though, I agree that these "unused" pages are fun. It's kind of strange to consider them as part of the Hellboy canon, as they weren't technically part of the accepted storyline, but that doesn't make the artwork any less fun to look at!
