Description

Mickey's Amateurs Bandmaster Goofy Animation Drawing Sequence of 4 (Walt Disney, 1937). "We now have Bandmaster Goofy!" explains Mickey to his audience. "And his fifty-piece band!" chimes in Goofy. Mickey's Amateurs parodies popular "amateur hour" radio shows of the time and the lineup of performers is full of beloved Disney characters. For his act, Goofy performs with a clumsy contraption that he constructed to allow him to play fifty different instruments on stage as a one-man-band! This image of Goofy depicts him as he plays his clarinet, a moment which can be found at about the 6:41 mark of the short. This rare group of four original animation drawings features large images of the Goof during his musical performance, rendered with graphite and colored pencil on 12 field, 5-peghole animation paper. The pieces are numbered in their lower right corners with 59, 62, 122, and 138. They are in Good to Very Good condition, with some handling and edge wear, including age-related toning, some smudging, and some creasing. Drawing 138 has some tears and folds on its edges.

A rarity to be treasured! I can feel the speed and smooth look of the animation from the sequence.
