      The Cartoon Art Museum holds an annual Sketch-a-Thon at their SDCC booth where professional comics and animation artists spend an one-hour-shift drawing for fans. The fundraiser went completely online for 2020-21. This year, SDCC was fully open and the CAM held the event live and online. Cartoonist Shaenon Garrity was a SDCC Special Guest and received an Inkpot Award in 2022. She has worked as a writer, artist, cartoonist, editor, and reviewer. To reduce packaging waste, I ordered two pieces: a Hayao Miyazaki character and a girl wearing a Chinese cheongsam. I love Shaenon’s depiction of this hard worker as she balances a tea service in one hand and carries a toolbox in the other hand.
