Description

Here's a fun page from a Batman story I really enjoyed by Scott Hampton, a master of heroic fantasy. I love Hampton's environments, creature design, and nuanced human interactions. Apparently, he wrote this story with the intention of someone else doing the art, but the artist backed out so he wound up having to draw it himself, for which I'm grateful because it's perfectly suited to his style.

That's a striking page. The inks are vaguely reminiscent to me of Wrightson at his peak during his prime era.

The design and detail of the creature make this an excellent page, but there is also a nice horror element at play here. Very nice page!

Hampton's storytelling is fantastic as the beat in between the third and fourth panel felt like an eternity.
