Description

I received in the mail yesterday a lovely little book entitled ARTWORK-David A. Roach. Sent by the artist/author, who kindly inscribed a copy for me. Published by Richmond Press this 96-page hardcover showcases the work of the artist, whose work has graced many comics both in the U.K. and in North America. I was first in touch with David back in 2019 when I asked to be put on his waitlist for a commission having seen and been impressed by his work.

Three years later, I am still on that waiting list (according to the text of the book I am in good company with 40 or so others), but I got something of an advance, for in ordering the book, I asked David if he could do a remarque for me. He said the endpapers were black and that would be difficult, so I pressed for a little bust drawing to be laid in the volume, and David was kind enough to oblige.

David hints in this volume that another volume featuring his work may yet appear and that would be a delight!

I heartily encourage anyone who has the opportunity to pick up a copy of the book.
