DescriptionWhen I think of classic Aquaman artists, Jim Aparo, Jim Calafiore, Romana Fradon, and Nick Cardy come to mind. Yeah, great arguments can be made for so many others great ones. But I'm just saying who quickly comes to my mind.And when I think of characters that were iconic to Curt Swan... well... there's Superman. And all those supporting characters. And maybe the Legion of Super-Heroes. Well in 1989, Curt worked on a 5-issue run of Aquaman and this page is from that run. He is so masterful with his facial expressions and action sequences. I do wonder how he (and Vey) felt about doing all those scales on Arthur and wavy lines on Mera. I love it. Social/Sharing |

Very busy costumes that Swan probably let Vey deal with as the lineweights had to be considered after the lines for the anatomy is done. You can tell this page was by someone old school as the panel layout is not going for a cinematic widescreen look, but silver age bold.
