Description

I really enjoyed Mark Waid's take on the evil Superman trope with Irredeemable. I didn't pick up the series until long after its completion.

A couple of aspects set this apart from the other "Superman goes bad" stories. First, The Plutonian (the Superman archetype in this universe) REALLY goes bad. He kills millions and individuals alike, but it's the contempt and sadistic nature of how he does it that really gets to you. Second, this story goes deep into how the Plutonian transforms from the world's greatest hero to the world's greatest horror. The psychological breakdown is unique.

There are a few covers out there from various artists, but to my knowledge, this is the only interior art done by co-createrPeter Krause on CAF. He has kept almost 100% of his pages to date. To not only get a page, but one with the Plutonian front and center is a real treat.

Finally, there are recent announcements of an Irredeemable movie on Netflix and a continuation of the series in comic form next year.

Thank you, Robert C, for an incredibly pleasant transaction. You were a delight to connect with!

Oh, so the Irredeemable series is basically a "Superman goes bad" story? Interesting, as I hadn't heard that until now and I'm always up for a "hero turns bad" story. I think I'll track down a copy if I can. I liked Krause's art on Power of Shazam, and this is a different style altogether, but I like it even more as it's more in the "Guice/Epting/Perkins" mold based on what I see on this page. Congrats on getting a rare piece from this series!

I know nothing about this story, but with a page like this, you really don't need to know squat about diddly to recognize how special it is.  And your desciption has intrigued me enough to track down some TPBs and read the whole shebang.  EBay, here I come!

Great page from an amazing comic series.  I really enjoyed IRREDEEMABLE along with the counterpart to it, INCORRUPTIBLE.  Both amazing series and happy to hear we will see more from this darker super-hero world.

Great showcase sequence!  It is easy to understand why this would be done traditionally as the gem of the issue.  The way it is colored hammers home his darkness.

A great example from a great artist on a great (set of) series.

I read this series in trade paperback form as the books were released.  It was very well done - congrats on picking up a rare piece of original art from it!
