I am soooo happy to have snagged the original strip about the emu. I had a personal experience with an escaped emu that showed up at my house, and they are fascinating birds.

Definitely a rare bird of a Sunday! Elrod goes through a lot more than just a few shots you'd find in an encylopedia giving us a full illustrated studied account of the emu.
