"Pusan Pocket!" by Dave Wood. Cover date March 1953. Published comic page 25.
A captain's kid brother seizes a boat to deliver badly needed ammunition to his unit, defying his brother's orders in the face of fierce North Korean resistance.
Jerry Grandenetti was a prolific artist of DC war stories and co-creator of French Resistance fighter Mademoiselle Marie.
His resume includes crime--ghosting for Will Eisner on The Spirit (no pun intended)--mystery-suspense, science fiction, and Westerns. He succeeded Neal Adams on the Spectre.
Besides DC, Grandenetti's art ran in books from American Comics Group, Lev Gleason Publications, Prize Comics, Tower Comics, and Warren (Eerie and Creepy), and at least one Marvel issue.
