DescriptionThis was a commission I set up a few months in advance. Thanks to my friend George (Dangerroom comics on Instagram), I was able to briefly chat via video over a phone with Arthur while he was at the Lake Como show earlier this year. A few weeks before NYCC I messaged him to see if he had had a chance to work on it and he said he was just about to start. Whoo-hoo..! Once again, Arthur Adams knocks it out of the park. The character is Arthur's take on Hela, which he's drawn for a couple of his sketchbook covers. Picked it up at NYCC today and couldn't be happier. The guy is just amazing. I was told that he finished 32 pre-show commissions for NYCC..that's insane! I was lucky enough to be there when a fellow fan had picked up eight! They were all incredible! 9 x 12 on bristol. Social/Sharing |

Fantastic choice! Could be the cover to his next sketchbook!

The texture work is stunning as the costume has natural and forged materials. The crosshatching is where he shines as Adams puts an abundance of it where it is needed and cleanly leaves the rest to show great dimensionality and weight. This deserves cover consideration for a future sketchbook.

Very nice assessment! I'd love it as a cover - thst would make three times that this character would grace one of his sketchbook covers! You never know...
