Description

Once again, Spidey finds himself in "The Arms of Doctor Octopus!" This piece really grabs ya. The background picture of Doc Ock man-handling the Web-swinger, then his "Actual Arms" in the foreground... it's just foreshadowing for that's coming!
This splash page is signed by JRSR in the top margin, personalized and signed by inker Jim Mooney in the left margin, and also signed by co-creator Stan "The Man" Lee himself just above Doc Ock's head.
Romita Sr. took over the art from co-creator Steve Ditko and refined the look of both Spider-Man and Peter Parker. The result was to take an already popular book and make it one of Marvel's top-dogs. The "Spidey head" even became a corporate symbol for Marvel.
