DescriptionThis "The Clone Plot" was planned to publish in Walt Disney's Comics & Stories in early 1984, but was left out, later published in 11 other countries, please see more;https://inducks.org/story.php?c=D+2003-309 The artwork was done in 1983-84 and it looks this is Paul Murry's (1911-1989) last story he made before his retirement. I dare to say this 3rd page is the best from the 8-pager story. Besides this artwork is nicely matching with other originals I am having with similar theme, from the same period: Pink Panther story (by Warren Tufts), where is also cloned characters (to be used in a crime). You can find it starting from here: https://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=1860618 This artwork is really huge! Like all Murry's Mickey Mouse pages, really enjoy looking at and checking details from them. In the photo you see the difference! ;-) Showing how much smaller printed stuff has been, Finnish Aku Ankka is there next to the original. Post Scriptum: Timo Ronkainen kindly shared additional information about this story, please have it here: "I think this wasn't just "left out". It might have been intented for being in WDC 511 or 512. Toy manufacter Mattel (who had purchased Western-Whitman in 1979) sold their ownership of Western Publications to the investor and venture capitalist Richard Bernstein in December 1983. Bernstein made some calculations and saw that those comic books weren't making enough money, he just pulled the plug in 1984. All mags were cancelled so abruptly that few issues, ready for print, were never made. Western even planned to use some Danish Gutenberghus/Egmont material but stories that were already translated was left unused." Paul Murry's artwork has been always huge! The page is 56 x36 cm. Impressive size. No wonder the panels look so small when squeezed into the regular comic sized page.
