DescriptionI’m a huge Guy Davis fan and happy to add a page to my collection from his break out series Sandman Mystery Theatre which is the book I first encountered his work. There is a warmth and humanity to Guy’s drawings almost in a Charles Schulz way that suck me in immediately and make me believe these characters are real and I’m seeing a window into their lives through the page. This example features Wesley Dodds (the Sandman) communicating with the city’s medical examiner Hubert Klein about a case and I love how the panels of their conversation revolve around the dial of the telephone in a neat little way to make a talking heads page more interesting. DC will be reprinting the series again in a new compendium format and I highly recommend everyone check it out if you haven’t read it before because you will definitely not be disappointed.Update- Sold 5/23 Social/Sharing |

What the heck is a dial telephone? He should have just texted or used the comic art discord.

This is a fantastic SMT page. Though I am a bit bias, as I love SMT. Guy's storytelling skills are all over this page. That rotary dial to break up the back an forth between Wes and the Dr at the morge is great. Solid use of blacks to move the eye around from the phone at the top to the phone at the bottom. Congrats on such a nice page.

Fantastic page! I love Guy's work with Sandman and B.P.R.D. being favorites.
