DescriptionJames Harren brings the Xenomorph to life in this illustration that would surely make the Nostromo space crew want to investigate that distress call all over again. Through the use of tone and plenty of ink, the creature features are successfully captured to an exact glimpse of what we see in the movie. Enveloped in darkness we see just enough of the Alien to make it terrifying and awesome at the same time. I always thought that the creature design for Alien was one of the best in movie history and James Harren does it full justice with this piece.I have noticed that when I hold this piece up to my face and stare intensely, it has the tendency to start to wrap around the sides of my head, almost wanting some type of embrace. A sincere thank you to Simon for this Halloween appropriate Harren! Approximately 11"x13" Social/Sharing |

From the shpe f the piece, it looks like Harren is making an soundtrack album cover. Maybe because he was listening to it for inspiration.

The mood is so good in this! The atmospherics and mix of sheen and gritty textures perfectly captures the look and feel of the film, which is tied for my fav of all time. Love the subtle Gigeresque background, too. Such a great piece!

A terrifying design that Harren somehow makes seem even more alien. Amazing work.

Has anyone checked on Tyler? Was he able to stop staring at this piece yet or is he fully in the grasp of a facehugger now? 😆 Incredible pick up man! It's amazing how well he was able to use that spatter technique to bring out the volume in the forms. If Marvel was smart they would through all the money at Harren to do the ultimate Alien book for them.

Man, SO much ink. Harren really went all out on this one, and must look that much better in person, especially at 11x13. Congrats!
