PERRY RHODAN-Novel #1733 (Original Cover Art) - Johnny Bruck (1994) »Projekt Sonnenschild« was episode 1733 of the German Science Fiction pulp-series PERRY RHODAN. It is still the most popular SF pulp-series in Germany and probably the most published one worldwide.

Gouache on board. Created in early 1994 and signed by the artist Johnny Bruck (1921-1995) with 'JOHNNY CRASH' (lower right). The printed version was published on November 10, 1994. I like the almost human illustration of the robot.

Johnny Bruck used several signatures including Bruck, Willis, Plaster, or Crash. 'WILLIS' he used for his personal favorites and 'PLASTER/ER', 'CRASH' and 'SHOT' rather ironic after traffic and hunting accidents.

This is one of the rare pieces of Johnny Bruck he signed with 'Johnny Crash' after an accident in 1994. He died in October 1995.
