Description

Lots of reasons I really like this page. When Kieron Dwyer took over as regular penciler for Cap earlier in 1988, I was excited for his style of art. You can see the John Byrne influence (which is his step-father). And it's always cool to see Steve Rogers in his Captain uniform, which later went to John Walker as the USAgent. But I really enjoy the inner thoughts of Steve (something writer Mark Gruenwald was known for doing), as he is questioning his actions that have lead to him resigning as Captain America and being behind bars. For me, this was Mark Grunewald's magnum opus and I would also treasure a Keiron Dwyer page from this magnificent run! The fact that Steve is unmasked wearing the Captain suit is also a treat-- making it unmistakably the original instead of USAgent (for the benefit of later Marvel fans *sorry to semi-gate-keep*;)
