Silver Sable and the Wild Pack Issue# 06 Pg. 08

I picked this page up at Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con and am just now getting to post it. This page I picked up directly from Deryl Skelton and was able to have a nice conversation about his artwork while visiting.

As a fan of Silver Sable, I was happy to get my hands on another piece from the series. This page being one with the Paladin on it. Paladin was hired, by Silver Sable, to find Dmitri Petrovitch. It just so happens that he stumbled onto something even bigger, which was the Genesis Coalition. The organization separated from Hydra to create their own group. This piece takes place down in the South American Rainforest where the Genesis Coalition set up base. Dmitri Petrovitch is the bald guy in the top right panel.

As I stated earlier, I picked this piece up due to the Silver Sable title name, but was pleased to be introduced to Paladin for the first time. I jumped online to learn a little more about Paladin and enjoyed the history on what inspired his creation. Paladin was inspired by the 1950's Western Television series Have Gun-Will Travel. The series had a character named Paladin who was a gunslinging mercenary in the Old West and worked as an investigator. The history seems quite similar to the back story of this page, which gave the piece more depth to me when looking at it.

The piece has bullets flying, necks snapping, and bodies flying through the air. I absolutely love it.
