Early Ed Benes page from when he was a part of Mike Deodato's studio. Ed hasn't done much Marvel work compared to his work on DC titles, so really happy to add a few to my collection! Love the casual outfits/character designs (with a few weird exceptions...) that were featured in this arc which are amplified by the classic Benes art style. Part of the Lost Gods Story Arc where all the Asgardian Gods were sent to Earth stripped of their powers and memories and given Earth identities. This page features Pietro Vizarri (The Grand Vizier, Odin's Chief Advisor), Ericka Velez (Lady Sif), Amora (Enchantress, who never lost her memories because she wasn't on Asgard at the time. During Onslaught she was captured by Frost Giants and only escaped just after the Lost Gods stuff started heating up), and Barry Landers (Balder The Brave). The Lost Gods and Enchantress (Plus Ulik the Troll and the two Frost Giants who helped Enchantress escape) travel to Seth the Serpent Death God's Death Dimension to save Odin and The Grand Vizier (who have also lost their powers and assumed new identities) but they split up into two groups and are quickly captured and held prisoner alongside Odin and Vizier. On this page, after just having been slapped by Loki, The Grand Vizier regains his true form and powers. While Baldur holds back Seth's army, Enchantress urges The Grand Vizier to use his powers to teleport them all back to Earth to regroup despite Lady Sif's objections that they can't abandon the rest of their team (The other group consisting of Donald Velez (Heimdall), Ulif, and the two Frost Giants)
