Early Ed Benes page from when he was a part of Mike Deodato's studio. Ed hasn't done much Marvel work compared to his work on DC titles, so really happy to add a few to my collection! Love the casual outfits/character designs (with a few weird exceptions...) that were featured in this arc which are amplified by the classic Benes art style.
Basically the continuation of the earlier JiM page I posted here. While Ericka Velez (Lady Sif) has objected to Amora's (Enchantress) plan of teleporting everyone back to Earth, they unfortunately have no choice as Seth's soldiers are quickly collapsing on them. Howie Barker (Hermod) and Ericka help Wad (Odin) get on his feet while The Grand Vizier begins drawing energy for their escape. The Grand Vizier notices that another power is interfering with their teleportation by preventing one of them from escaping, Enchantress tells him that it's fine to leave that one person behind if it means the rest of them can safely escape.
Despite Barry Lander's (Balder the Brave) objection, The Vizier puts Odin's safety above all else and goes forward with the teleportation spell. While this may seem like Enchantress is throwing someone under the bus for her own safety, her facial expression in the last panel gives the reader a hint at her true intentions.
