DescriptionThis was the first piece of "art" I had purchased. In the early 90's Disney animation was hard to come by in my area unless you wanted to attend auctions or go to higher priced galleries. Disney may not have had much in the lines of animation that they were going to sell off to the public so they created the sericel program where they would open up the archives and release a limited edition of a frame of animation. This is from Lonesome Ghosts. Each sericel was usually priced at $250 which was a lot of money back then.This item limited edition Serigraph Cel produced and approved by the Disney Art Program. In 1990, The Walt Disney Company approved an edition size is 2500 serigraph cels and the silk screens used to create this edition were destroyed when the edition was completed. As proof of authenticity, the cel piece has the Disney seal engraved in the lower right corner. Social/Sharing |
