Closing out 2022 with a bang. (Here's the first of three.)

This comic has nothing to do with Jessica Jones. It is also not related to the Jennifer Garner TV series. What it is, is a story written by Chuck Dixon and released by Now Comics that I read the hell out of in high school.

It's a simple story. Boy meets girl. Girl falls in love. Boy turns out to be a hit man paid to kill her father. And that's just issue one. Actually, I have no idea what happens in the following four issues. They never showed up on my grocery story newsstand.

But the art. We're here for the art.

When I found the issue, the first thing that grabbed me was the cover. In a sea of mutants in spandex, this dark painted cover jumped out at me. I had no idea who Bill Sienkiewicz was. In fact, I didn't know he painted this until the cover came up for sale and reminded me that it existed.

This is my first piece by Sienkiewicz. Given the price tags, it will probably remain my only piece. But if I only get one, I'm really happy it's this one.

What a superb cover by Bill Sienkiewicz! His work has really pushed the boundaries of what comics could look like ever since he broke in on the scene back in the '80s. This is a stunning piece and a great addition to your collection! Congrats, Mike!
