Description
This was a piece done for a Toronto Fan Expo print dated 8-24-2011. It features my favorite group of Autobots set among the backdrop of Autobot City on Earth from the 1986 Transformers The Movie:
Daniel on his rocket skateboard, Wheelie, Hot Rod, Blurr, Kup, Arcee, Springer and Ultra Magnus!

Believe it or not, this piece really hits on a nostalgic level despite only being a 'published print' at best.

I remember this making the rounds on the interwebz back in 2012 and while strictly speaking it is unpublished, it still has a strong sense of nostalgia for me. Not only in regard to the characters from the '86 film, but the actual piece itself which I probably used as a screensaver back in the day!

A great looking piece of art with super clean lines. The thing about nostalgia is that, contrary to popular belief, it DOESN'T only come from the exact images we remember seeing as kids. A newly created piece of art can bring just as much nostalgia if the content is reminicent of things we saw in our youth, which is why many of us still buy art from new books we don't even read. Good to hear this piece stoked that flame for you!

A long time ago when the death was filmed
And there was much more than meets the eye than you've ever seen
They'd roam around free while the Earth had Decepticons
But the Orsen Wells of them all was the Unicron

There were clean animators of Japanese
Some Scat Man Crothers and some hot Arcee
Some Kup and Blurr and Autobots, but sure as you're born
The Alex Milne of all was the Unicron

Milne does a wonderful job adding personality to each character in the image.  I can see why this would be used as a screensaver!

"You can win if you dare!"

Yes!  Love this, Derek.  Perfect shot of the new TFs, highlighted by the new Prime, Rodimus Prime!  Perfect pose and gotta dig that smile.  In the right collection, too.  I'm sure you're over the moon, man.  Congrats!
