Description

Let me state right off the bat, that I've never had such a difficult time scanning a piece of art. Thomas's pencils are so fine and detailed, that my scanner just wasn't picking them up correctly. I had to use a cropped version from Thomas's Instagram in order to get a proper photo up here. Getting it inked will be one of my top priorities heading into the new year.

As for the artist himself, Thomas was great to collaborate with and his star is definitely starting to rise in the industry as artists such as Rob Liefeld have started to notice his work and throw projects his way. You can find him on Instagram, here: https://www.instagram.com/thomashedglen/?hl=en

Not sure if you've ever done an all pencil commish before, but this one is fantastic. Although I did see in your description that you plan on getting it inked. Great job on Surfer here. I think I've commented on other Surfer piece about how hard of a character he is to get right. You might think it would be just the opposite, considering he has no costume. But doing a naked, shiney, guy is a lot trickier than you think. Anyway, love the piece. Congrats!

Surfer on this throne in outer space reminds me of Kirby's other creation in Metron. Hedglen II certainly pulls of a great looking piece with a sitting pose that people take for granted, but difficult to pull off in perspective.
