His design sense is top-notch and this cover is no exception.This series hit all the right notes. While throwing in his lot with the X-Men, Mags takes it on himself to run side missions to proactively protect mutant kind (a one man X-Force). He's no longer a villain, but he's definitely no hero. Magneto cover in the grocery store
The snow was falling Christmas Eve
He saw Grim Reaper in the frozen foods
And Eranga would believe
He didn't recognize the face at first
But then his thighs flew open wide
He went all buggy and he spilled his purse
And counted until he cried
He took Declan Shalvey to the checkout stand
The art was totaled up and bagged
He stood there lost in this accomplishment
Mutant evolution Mags
Went to break himself a skull or two
Because fans find it popular
He joins the Six-Pack at the Cable store
And skulls piled up near and far

Very powerful and scary image. Well that is until Thanos comes booty calling then it turns terrifying.

Yeah, Shalvey is great! Magneto as the Grim Reaper though? One of the more bizarre ideas in Mutant Land!

Hahaha he doesnt wear the costume in the book - its just Declan being symbolic. And it would make sense based on the body count he racks up in the series - starting with hunting down escaped Nazis :)

Apt image, no doubt. and there's something fitting about Erik's helment, with face shadowed in, as part of the Reaper look. Totally agree regarding many of Shalvey's covers - I'll get mine soon enough! Congrats on a sweet example!

I love me some Declan... so underappreciated just churrns out cover after cover and this is one of the best!
