Description
“Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves” (1991) comp by C. Michael Dudash. Carbon pencils on illustration board. The whole upper area is a modification he drew and pasted on top (you can see the layer change following the bow down and around Costner and the other actors’ heads) so the art could feature the romance scene. Dudash is amazing, and this is spectacular in person.

This is almost photographic with how well this came together.  The different levels of deep pencils is amazing and looks like the approach was to have a look that is like a historical interpetation of the legend.
