DescriptionI've been wanting a great page featuring Chasm (Ben Reilly) in his new costume for quite a while now, and this one truly fit the bill.Though Peter is happy to see Ben still alive, his joy is quickly dispelled when Chasm states his intentions of taking back the life Peter stole from him, even if the city must suffer. Poor Ben. Living life as an exile for years as a clone, then finding out that he was the true Peter Parker (which was a cruel trick), then dissolving into dust ... then somehow being revived and killed and revived and killed and revived again numerous times by Miles Warren until he was basically insane, then assuming the mantle of the Jackal to clone a bunch of Peter's long-dead friends and foes, then spending some time in Vegas, then ... well, most recently, he had his mind scrubbed of formative memories of being Peter, so he has even less of his moral compass .... Let's face it, the poor guy has been through a lot, and he is justifiably pissed off at life, and Peter in particular. Anyway, I really love this page. Social/Sharing |

Kasey Chasm is back?!? I can't say he ever looked all that superheroic when he was doing American Top 40, but he really looks great here in this costume! Great art and credit to Rathburn for all the cool background effects!

Yes, especially if you live in the hip hop hot bed of Nova Scotia and have a burgeoning rap career going!

Today our long distance dedication goes coast to coast from the great white North of Qubec. He writes: Dear Casey, Ben Reilly and I met during the clone saga in 1994. He was a close relative of mine and people often called us clones of each other. We decided to have a reunion recently and he showed up with a great design that combines some of the symbiote and electric Spider-Man costumes. Big clean shot of him as well on a page. So I would like to dedicate to Ben the Alice Cooper song Clones.

Another killer, Paul! Outstanding figure work by Ed (no surprise there), but (just like Rubén pointed out) the backgrounds really add the zing to this one. Great choices that really add depth and texture to each panel without upstaging or distracting from the storytelling of the main images. Really nice work by Cliff Rathburn! Congrats, Paul!

Great first shot there of Chasm - imposing! Yeah, Ben is getting up there near Harry territory in terms of his up and down arc. Almost, maybe not there quite just yet :) Congrats!

Poor, poor Ben. One of the few times I ever wrote a letter to Marvel was to protest his death in Spider-Man #75. Will the abuse of him ever end? At least he gets to be drawn by a talented artist like McGuinness.
