DescriptionI typically haven't collected commissions of Hulk villains aside from Maestro but this piece drew my interest for not only James Harren's artistic style but also his unique take on the evil genius. A glaring Hulk-sized hole for his art in my collection solidified the decision to pick up this piece.I've always thought the Leader could be Marvel's "Joker" in the sense that most artists could inject their own style, which could comparatively be night and day when viewed next to another artist's rendition, but still be easily recognizable as Samuel Sterns. From Dale Keown's athletic/ripped 90s rendition to Joe Bennett's horror genre take and here to James Harren's 70s movie villain edition, the Leader allows a wide range artistic versatility. Sometimes I look at Harren's art and think it's an amped up/hyper version of what Jack Kirby would draw like today if he was brought up watching anime/90s cartoons and culture. Case in point. Love it!

Stop staring or I'll shoot. I really like Harren's takes on almost all characters, and the Leader is no exception. I dig that he brings all of that aggressive style, even on commissions. Zipatone makes me smile. Great score!

I'm glad you didn't continue bidding the price up! This was also a steal based on James Harren's current prices, and I will gladly thank you Khalil :)

The smushed in facial features makes the forehead even higher upping the intelligence factor! Very well thought out design by Harren. The zip and zest of the screentones and brushwork brings us a Leader we can all rally behind.

I'm letting the secret out. The leader is really Bobby "the brain" Heenan.

That's a great artistic interpretation of the Leader! He looks pretty suave with sideburns, and I like how the background behind him echoes the weird techno devive on his rather sizeable forehead.
