Description

Just about the second day I started to buy original art, I started looking for a page from a Huntress back up. A lot of them are tucked away in a few collections (and one "collection") so they aren't easy to find. Particularly with Helena in costume.

She only appears fully in the last panel but I'm still thrilled to have this page. For my money, pre-crisis Huntress was one of the most interesting characters in DC history and subsequent takes on the character (with a few exceptions, largely Gail's) have always been distant runner ups.

Staton was also in a phase of his art that I most connect with. I like a lot of his later art but his late 70s/early 80s pages are the ones I most connect with.

I won this page in a Dec '22 Comic Connect auction. Am only selling because I just won a different pre-Crisis Staton in a different auction and I need to make room on my wall.

The piece is in fantastic shape. It's about 16 x 10.5 with one small corner clip.

Fun page and I too prefer his art from that period (even though Family Man was superb)

Great pickup. I did enjoy the Lion Hunt storyline. Poor Lionmane, didn't survive Crisis.
