Description

The prelims to Fables 1-5 are among the earliest work James Jean did for Fables. I enjoy the earlier pieces for their rawness (does that make sense?). He�s fresh off of his time at SVA, starting to get commercial work, pushing and expanding his creative horizons and the work doesn�t have the polish we see in his later Fables work. This prelim featuring Rose Red was published in the James Jean Fables Covers hardcover.

Very lovely as Jean's initial ideas are put to paper to show the mood and fairy tale look he was designing to convey throughout the series. While ultimately not used for the issue, it shows that fluid line that would enchant and take you to their world.

Great movement in this one. Looks like it could also be an unused cover for issue 1 too. congrats on unearthing another great prelim
