DescriptionI took a break from collecting comic art from about 1993 until 1999 or so. During that time, Hughes got *big* and in demand, and prices for his art skyrocketed. I'd always wanted another piece from him, but figured the only way I'd get something affordable was to meet him at a con. In June 2002, he went to a con in Dallas, so I got up at 5am on the first day, made the 4-hour trek to Dallas, and was first on his sketchlist. I didn't actually decide on what I wanted him to draw until I was standing in front of his table - the list of potential subjects was huge! Finally settled on a perennial fave of mine, Power Girl. Here's hoping I can add more of Adam's art to my collection in the future - he amazes me with every piece he draws. Pencil on 11x14 drawing paper.Social/Sharing |

UPDATE 01/04/05 - when posting this piece, I forgot that it was indeed published as page 1 of the hughes-fans yahoogroup sketchbook "Not Actual Size" published in 2003!
