Wildflame recounts the tale of the Justice Legion L which is the climax of the DC One Million stories which was set 1 million months after the dawn of Super-Heroes or in the year 85,271.
This page is a flashback to the original Legion of the 31st century featuring Gates, Bouncing Boy, Chameleon, Ferro Lad, Laurel Gand, Wildfire and Sensor Girl.
And cameos from members the Legion of the 75th century, Graft and Membrane.

I gotta say, it really took some balls, particularly in the era this was published, for Giffen to continue experimenting with his style and getting it to this point. It's hard to describe. Clearly Kirby-ish at its root, but then almost taking it to a pseudo pop art level. I clearly recall most readers disliking it and even I felt he had taken it a bit too far. But as is often wont to happen, withthe passing of years I've come to appreciate it more than I did back then. What were/are YOUR feelings about it, Miki?

Though I knew that million years had gone
Legion feeling hit me, oh so strong

Then you gazed up Kirby
And the Krackle dot’s plain to see

Giffen lines (in your eyes)
Gordon lines (in your eyes)

Though we love his inks (we had our fling)
I forever would respect the King (suspect a thing)
