From the ComicArtLive auction of Ryan Sook art on 8/27/2022 to benefit Hero Initiative.

This is Ryan Sook's piece commemorating 75 years of the Black Canary ( 1947 - 2022 ) !!! She seems to be one of his favorite characters to draw. Ink and white paint.

The Black Canary was introduced in Flash Comics 86 as a way to beef up the Johnny Thunder backup stories. She eventually replaced Johnny Thunder.

The additional image is my slabbed copy of Flash Comics 92 which marked her first cover appearance. I bought it as a �raw� comic in the early 1990�s and had it slabbed in the late 1990�s.

Black Canary was created by Robert Kanigher and Carmine Infantino.
