Sandokan page by Hugo Pratt

Here is a page from Sandokan by Hugo Pratt. Thought to be the prototype to Corto Maltese. This project was started for the Argentinian market before the first Corto book. After the first Corto book, Sandokan remained unfinished and Pratt left Argentina for Europe to continue creating Corto. It is clear that other than some facial hair differences, there is a Corto Maltese like character. Pratt finished the first half of the book plus a few pages from the second half and then abandoned the project. The art disappeared for decades and copies of the art reappeared in the early 2000's with publication in Europe. The original art has recently surfaced and pages were/are available through Krazy Art gallery in Milan, a new retail comic art gallery. I was lucky to be among the first to see the art and had a chance to choose from almost all the pages. I picked 2 very different pages.
