I'll still take a good old flying saucer over a spy balloon any day. That's some sweet vintage art.

I couldn't help but pick this piece up knowing that they were prelunar landing flying saucers. I always wanted a piece of early sci-fi and this dates to seven years before we landed on the moon. I truly appreciate pieces that are representative of an era and this feels like that.

When were you going to tell us you flew flying saucers before you were a snowboarder?  Pretty damn cool with the fleet of saucers lifting off in fromation and then the big spacebound battle!  Sparling made it clear enough that you can see all the action even with so much information presented. 

I mean with all my Guardians of the Galaxy art I thought you would have guessed. Now I just reminisce about the good old days cruising amongst the stars. Well until I was interrupted by my parents that is. Yep, quite the daydreamer. 

Wow, you not only provided us with a beautiful page of art to admire, but the soundtrack to go along with it.  Dinner AND a show!  But seriously, as I listened to that music and looked at the scene, it really did come alive.  You may have started something here!

Not I. That is totally the product of watching Kavi on one of the CAF shows. I was totally inspired to connect music to my art because of him. It really goes well though and thanks for appreciating the connection. The ships almost move with the music and the violins just elaborate upon the dystopian space scene.

"Close Encounters of the Third Kind" traumatized me as a little kid because I thought it could actually happen.  Unlike "Star Wars" which I understood to be pure fantasy, the thought of aliens taking people up to their ship scared me for years afterwards.  So, you'll forgive me if I skip the soundtrack and just admire the wonderful art.

Childhood film trauma is real. My half sister babysat me as a child and forced me to watch nightmare on elm street. I could never get into that style of film since then. Luckily we made ammends as we grew up, but Freddy Krueger and I are still not on speaking terms.

Why thank you. I had my eyes on this one from the day Anthony posted it to the site and sat on it for a while until that awesome deal show. He loves a sale, I love a deal, and thus it was kismet.

Such dense black and white, especially in that bottom panel!

The contrast throughout the piece was another very big reason why I picked this vs the others.

I was so excited to see the picture of you guys together with Derek and even Tariq was there. So cool you all got to meet in person!

It was fun even if the con itself was kind of "meh," outside of seeing the cast of The Warriors. 

Ya, it was a blast hanging out and I can't wait to meet up again. Got to see some awesome art and connect with some amazing people in the area. Definetly a plus.
