Featuring Aquaman!

In my evaluation of memorable Aquaman covers, this is one of my favorites! It has Aquaman and Mera, a great villian portrayal, all set in the ocean with some marine life in the mix.

Edit: Marcus pointed out the body positioning on Aquaman as a bold choice. Only then did I realize that Aquaman has a physical hand on the whale's upper jaw holding back the teeth as well as a foot pushing off. Had no idea the whale was actually that close on the heroes...and it makes more sense now with no land support to push off why that body positioning choice was made.

For a second there..I thought it was Racer X on top of that whale! What a great and exciting cover. Anyone that isn't an Aquaman fan needs to get a load of this!

Only Aparo could make Aquaman so handsome and badass! The difference in size for his legs shown in perspective is such a daring move, yet it works to sell the threat and menace of this whale he can't control.

One of my faves as well. I don't think I was buying DC books yet back then, but I just remember loving this one because of the whale. Of course now it's all about Apara and Aquaman. But at the time, I didn't know any better. Just remember how cool the whale looked.
