DescriptionCLICK HERE FOR AUCTION LISTING!7.25x23" artboard w/India ink original art for Sept. 3, 1956 daily strip by Dick Tracy creator Chester Gould (1900-1985). Art features four panels, showing police's efforts to find the body of Flattop amidst the burnt ruins of the theater he attempted to kill Dick Tracy and Sam Ketcham in. Tracy appears in two panels. Gould has signed last panel. Second panel has Chicago Tribune copyright strip. Large inked date at upper left. Penciled "Dick Tracy" title and various printing notations in top margin above art. Engraver inkstamp on back. Some staple holes across top margin and scattered dust soiling to margins. Scattered staining to second and third panel. Art o/w remains clean and VF. Social/Sharing |
